Charging map covers 50 charging points along the Skagerrak coast
An important part of the go:LEIF project has been to map and highlight where there are chargers along the Skagerrak coast
Partly so that current or future electric boat owners can see where they can charge their boat, and partly to highlight the ports that have taken the step towards the boating of the future.
- If there is one thing we have learned in the project, it is that the expansion of functioning charging infrastructure is a key factor in the transition to greener boating. But it is a complex issue, ports find it difficult to justify investments in boat charging if there are no boats that want to charge. At the same time, it is difficult for consumers to invest in an electric boat when there is no charging infrastructure," says Ylva Barr at the Gothenburg region.
The charging map currently contains 50 charging points, 22 in Sweden and 28 in Norway. The map provides information about where the chargers are located, what type of charger it is and what different payment options are available. What will happen to the map when the project is over is not entirely clear.
- "We are currently looking for an actor who would be willing to take over the information we have collected and continue to update the map, but it remains to be seen who will continue to run it," says Ylva Barr.
