The boat to work

Josef Lind chooses an electric boat mainly for the sake of the environment, but also sees a big difference in operating costs.

The Candelan is a fast boat based on high-tech foil technology and lifts out of the water at higher speeds. Lifting the hull out of the water reduces drag in the water by more than 80 percent compared to traditional hulls. This significantly reduces fuel consumption and thus operating costs, and both range and cruising speed can be significantly increased with today's battery solutions.(Read more about Candela and other electric boat models here).

First of all, it is the environment that is the main objective for me but it is also a very low cost to run

Josef says he drives down to Lilla bommen in Gothenburg in about 1.5 hours and takes the boat as often as possible.

We meet during the inauguration of Aqua's new super fast charger in Hällevikstrand and when asked what fast chargers mean for the recreational boat owner, he replies that it is very important to be able to charge the boat quickly to be able to fully utilize the boat.

Views/film of Joseph in Candelan are filmed by Tony Mayer.
