My and Iliana, two eighth graders from Västerskolan in Uddevalla, share their thoughts on boating and electric boats.
My and Iliana, two eighth graders from Västerskolan in Uddevalla, share their thoughts on boating and electric boats.
"Boating is a lot of fun, especially getting to places you can't otherwise reach," says My, whose family has a motorboat in Lysekil. Iliana enjoys getting closer to animals and nature and has some experience with rowing boats and different waterways.
Can they imagine electric boats in the future? Yes, in today's range of electric leisure boats they will find several that appeal to them. Stylish or fast is what is most important. The girls know that electricity is cheaper than gasoline as a fuel, but perhaps electric boats are more expensive to buy? There are questions about how to charge and are electric boats really audible to people who are out swimming?
They are curious about electric boats but say it's hard to tell which ones are electric just by looking at them, but you'll know when the engine is running!
If they do get a boat in the future, which they don't think is unlikely, the important thing will be to go on trips with friends.
